If you are planning to install new granite counter tops on your existing cabinets we provide complete counter top replacement service.  This service differs in that in order to make accurate templates from which your new counter tops will be fabricated, we must remove the existing including the sink, cook top and anything that is built into them.  We will be able to see if any reinforcement of the existing cabinets will be needed. If so, we con provide the services of a carpenter experienced in these matters.

The connection of new sink and faucet is best left to an experienced plumber who has all the tools and various fittings required.  Here again, we can provide this service if you so request.

If your old sink and faucet are in serviceable condition we can take them to the Habitat For Humanity outlet store where they will recondition them and offer them for sale.  Disposal of your old counter tops is included.

Production:

The first step in the production of stone counter tops is the making of the templates or patterns by the Project Manager. Depending upon the size and complexity of the design, the process may take from one to three hours to complete and contain all the information necessary to fabricate your work including the placement of seams. The patterns along with your plumbing fixtures, cook top and anything else the is to be built into your counter tops will be brought to our shop.

The project manager and saw operator, or fabricator, review the information and determine how to best produce the work. Consideration is given to as to how to cut the stone in regards to the natural features of the stone and the lay out of the counter tops. The materials are then cut to the patters and the individual sections and milled and ground to ensure an exact fit. Any steel re-enforcements that may be required are done at this time.

The work is then handed to over to the finisher whose responsibility is produce the edge treatments, under mount sink opening and the myriad of details required to make the finished product. These small details make or break the job. Many are so subtle that the inexperienced will miss them completely. They make the difference between a beautiful counter top installation and a run-of-the-mill job.

The installation of the completed counter top is over seen by the project manager. The counter tops are carefully packed for transportation to the job site. Upon arrival, they are installed in a pre determined order. The counter tops installed, the seams are  sealed and all built in fixtures installed. The counter tops are then given a last coat of cleaner-sealer, caulked against the cabinets and walls.
