The
location and placement of seams is influenced by the size and lay out of
the cabinet design, the size of the raw material selected and lastly the
accessibility of the work site. Compact kitchens my have only one
and in some cases no seams.
In
the case of a large island or peninsula were there is a seating area, a
seam is to be avoided. Where there are long counter runs, seams can
be placed at the cook top or sink opening to have the smallest seam
possible.
Accessibility
is a factor with very large pieces. Although easily handled is the shop
with cranes and hoists, at the job site they must be picked up and
carried. Long pieces will need a path as straight as possible, large
rectangles need additional height and width at door openings and stairs.
The
number and location of the seams is determined an time of templating.
The project manager will advise as to the placement of the seams in
regards to factors stated previously and discuss with you the options
available. |
